1. Who is responsible for your data
Hausjam S.R.L., Calea Victoriei 155, bl. D1, 010073 București, România, is the data controller for everything described here (full company details on the imprint page). For any privacy question or request, the contact form is the fastest route; if you prefer email, write to privacy@hausjam.com.
2. What we collect
- Your account: email address, a name if you give one, and your password (stored only as a salted hash — we cannot read it).
- Your photos and rooms: the room and furniture photos you upload, and the 3D rooms and designs built from them.
- Your plan and payments: which plan you are on and your billing history. Card details go directly to our payment provider — they never touch our servers.
- Messages you send us: what you write via the contact form or email.
- Technical basics: server logs (IP address, browser type, requested pages) kept briefly for security and debugging. There are no third-party analytics, no ad pixels and no trackers on Hausjam — see the Cookie Policy, which is pleasantly short.
3. What we use it for
Your photos are used for one thing — building your 3D room. That is the service you asked for, and it is the legal basis (contract) for almost everything we do with your data: turning photos into rooms, saving designs, running your plan and quotas, and answering your messages.
The remainder: billing records are kept because tax law requires it (legal obligation); short-lived server logs protect the service (legitimate interest); and anonymized improvement of our own models is described in section 4, with its off-switch.
We never sell your data, and we never use your photos or rooms for advertising. Not as an option we have reserved — as a thing this policy does not permit.
4. Anonymized improvement, and how to turn it off
Hausjam gets better at detecting floors, light and furniture by learning from real rooms. For this we use uploaded photos only after anonymization: people, faces and personally identifying details are removed first, and the photo is processed without your name, email or any link to your account.
This improvement use is on by default (our legitimate interest in making the product better), and it is bounded: anonymized photos improve Hausjam's own detection and rendering — they are never shared with anyone, never published, never licensed to third parties, and never used to build anything other than Hausjam.
You can turn it off anytime in your account settings, and new uploads stop being used from that moment. Deleting a photo or room also removes it from any future improvement use.
5. Where your data lives
Your photos, rooms and account data are stored on servers in the European Union, and the processors we use for hosting, payments and email operate under EU data-protection contracts. If we ever need a processor outside the EU, we will use the safeguards GDPR requires (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and say so here first.
6. How long we keep things
- Saved rooms and photos: until you delete them. They never expire on their own — on any plan, even after you cancel.
- Deleted rooms, photos, accounts: recoverable for 30 days (so a slip of the finger costs nothing), then permanently erased — including from backups.
- Uploads you never save: automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Server logs: at most 3 months.
- Support messages: up to 2 years, so we have context if you write again.
- Invoices and billing records: as long as Romanian tax law requires — that one is not up to us.
7. People in your photos
Rooms are lived in, and sometimes someone walks through the frame. Your photos stay private to your account, so an incidental person is seen by you and by no one else. Before any anonymized improvement use (section 4), people and faces are removed entirely. We never run face recognition and never try to identify anyone in any photo.
If a photo clearly features an identifiable person, the polite (and legally safe) move is to ask them first — the Terms of Use make that your call to get right.
9. Your rights
GDPR gives you the full set: access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, take your data with you (portability), and withdraw any consent without it affecting what happened before. Most of these are self-service — your rooms and photos can be viewed and deleted directly in the app; the rest is one message away. We answer within a month.
If you believe we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP (B-dul G-ral. Gheorghe Magheru 28–30, Sector 1, București, dataprotection.ro), or to the authority in your home country. We would appreciate the chance to fix it first.
10. Children
Hausjam accounts are for people 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you think a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters — new data, new purpose, new processor category — we will email you and show a notice in the app before the change takes effect. The promises in section 3 are the floor: no future version of this policy will sell your data or put your photos in ads.
