One hero piece is enough for a small room

Small rooms amplify every object. A sculptural sofa, a marble table, and a patterned rug do not look collected. They look like a showroom that could not decide.

Choose one lead: the seat, the table, or the floor. Let the other two recede — quieter cloth, simpler edge, flatter pile. The lead still reads. The room can breathe.

In the studio this is easy to test because you can mute pieces without carrying them downstairs. If the scene calms when you swap the loud rug for a plain one, believe that.

You can always add a second voice later. Starting with three is how a 38 square-metre lounge ends up feeling like storage.
