One pattern per view, then stop
Gepubliceerd
Pattern is how a room remembers things. Too many memories at once and the room has no place to rest the eye.
Stand at the door in the studio — or in the photograph. Whatever you can see without turning your head is one view. That view gets one patterned object. The rest can take texture without a print.
If you love two patterns, put them in rooms that do not share a sightline, or scale them so one is a whisper (a small geometric) and one is the voice (the sofa).
Plain is not a failure of taste. It is what lets the patterned thing be itself.
