Open oak shelves are a magazine finish. They assume a life that is already edited. Most lives include charger cables and the second set of sheets.

Closed storage the same width will hold the same volume and give the wall back to paint or a single picture. In a small room that silence is worth more than the display.

If you want some open, keep it to one bay and be ruthless about what is allowed to stand there. The studio can show a full wall of boxes versus a full wall of doors; the doors almost always calm the plan.

Storage that shouts is still storage. It is just louder than the sofa you paid more for.
