Scandinavian without the white showroom
Publisert
The catalog version of 'Scandinavian' is a white box with a blond chair. Actual rooms in the north are full of dark corners, wool, and objects that have been repaired.
Keep the pale wood if you like it. Then add one heavy thing: a dark table, a black lamp, a green cabinet. The light furniture will look lighter, not thinner.
In the studio a room of only pale pieces reads as unfinished, not calm. Calm has a weight in it.
You do not owe anyone a blonde set. You owe the window the courtesy of not fighting it with high-gloss black, and you owe yourself a place that does not look like a shop window after closing.
