Metal needs a wood to land on
Ippubblikat
Metal is reflective and a little cold, which is why it photographs as expensive. In a room with no timber it photographs as a clinic.
Pair a steel frame with an oak top, or a brass lamp with a walnut chest. The metal then reads as an accent, which is what it is good at.
In the studio, if every leg is a thin black line, add one solid wood mass. The lines will look designed instead of skeletal.
Chrome, brass, and black steel can share a room if they do not share a sentence. One family of metal per view is plenty.
