Bucharest rooms are often long. Furniture should admit that.

A lot of interwar and block apartments here are a sequence of rectangles, not a square lounge. Importing a square conversation pit leaves a corridor at each end that nobody uses.

Put the sofa on the long wall. Give one short end to a desk or a dining table and the other to a cabinet or a plant. The room becomes a street with destinations, not a leftover hallway around an island.

Photograph from the doorway that you actually enter. The studio will show whether the long walk still clears once the table is in.

This is not a national style. It is a plan type. The same advice holds in any city where the nice room is the one that used to be two rooms.
